Latin American Studies at UNC-Chapel Hill
The Institute for the Study of the Americas (ISA) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge of the Latin American experience in the Western Hemisphere. It builds on a long-standing and distinguished tradition of scholarly interest in Latin America, an interest that embraces the diverse regions that make up Latin America, including Mexico and Central America, South America, and the Caribbean. UNC-Duke Consortium in Latin American & Caribbean Studies
In 1989, after more than a half century of informal cooperation, UNC-Chapel Hill joined with nearby Duke University to create the the Consortium in Latin American and Caribbean Studies at the UNC-Chapel Hill and Duke University. The UNC-Duke Consortium enables the two universities to offer an exceptionally broad range of courses and provide supplementary educational opportunities that neither institution could offer separately, while facilitating regular collaboration among faculty and students on both campuses.
