Dr. Arturo Escobar is a Kenan Distinguished Professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and associate editor of Development. Dr. Escobar will present a retrospective look at twenty years of research and collaboration with a group of Afro-Colombian activists from Colombia’s Pacific Coast Region, culminating in the launching of an international campaign in defense of the Pacific in 2012 and beyond.
