The Archaeology of Prehispanic Kaminalijuyu and its connections with Modern Guatemala City

A talk with Barbara Arroyo,  Coordinator for the Kaminaljuyu Archaeological Zone at the Dirección General de Patrimonio Cultural y Natural  in Guatemala.  Arroyo has an active project at Kaminaljuyu were she trains students in fieldwork and laboratory analysis. She is a Senior Fellow at Dumbarton Oaks, has served on the board of the Society for American Archaeology (SAA) as the Latin American representative, and received the SAA Presidential Award in 2012 for Co-organizing the First Conferencia Intercontinental for the Society for American Archaeology in Panama in 2012. Co-sponsored by InHerit, The Alliance for Heritage Conservation, The Institute for the Study of the Americas, The Department of Anthropology, The Research Laboratories of Archaeology, and the Student Anthropology Society.
