Dr. Edna Viruell-Fuentes is Associate Professor of Latina/Latino Studies at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Her scholarship focuses on the health and well-being of Latinos and other immigrants in the United States by highlighting the health impacts of:

3. structural contexts, such as neighborhoods and immigration policies.

Dr. Viruell-Fuentes uses an interdisciplinary approach and both quantitative and quantitative methodologies to study immigrant population health.
