The Day of the Dead in Janitzio - Mexico

Director: May Herz. Since pre-Columbian times, every November 1st and 2nd, Mexican people prepare themselves to receive their departed loved ones. They clean and decorate the graves, they set beautiful tables or altars with offerings to the visiting dead, and later go to the cemetery to bid them farewell. Eréndira Ikikunari - Mexico

Director: Juan Roberto Mora Catlett. At the time of the Spanish conquest in present-day Mexico, a woman, Eréndira, stands up to the conquistadores to defend her people. Based on 16th century legend and codices that narrate the history of the Purépecha people, the film is a visual gem with dialogue primarily in the native Purépecha language. 107 minutes.
