Funding Opportunities for Graduate Students

For specific information about the ISA competitions listed below, including application forms and guidelines, please view the appropriate links.
Languages Across the Curriculum (LAC) is a program designed to integrate the study and use of languages into the mainstream curriculum for students in the College of Arts and Sciences. The LAC program is sponsored by the Center for European Studies, the Center for Global Initiatives and the Institute for the Study of the Americas. LAC regularly seeks experienced bilingual TAs to lead discussion sections. Eligible applicants must possess native or near-native fluency in the target language. Advanced graduate students with interdisciplinary interests are especially encouraged to apply. For more information contact the LAC coordinator at: lac@unc.edu.

Travel Warnings: The University of North Carolina endeavors to balance the value of participation in international educational activities against the potential risk to its students and employees of such participation. In balancing these factors, the University relies on information from the U.S. Department of State, most particularly the Travel Warnings issued periodically by that agency, and information in the Travel Notices issued by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control. IRB Guidance for Student Research and Class Projects: Federal regulations and university policies require Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval for research with human subjects. This applies whether the research is conducted by faculty or students, by individuals or a group. Failure to obtain proper approval in advance may jeopardize your data, prevent you from publishing the results, and place you and the university in violation of federal regulations.
