She has been a statistical co-investigator of several cardiovascular health trials in adults and in children, and more recently consultant to several community-based participatory research studies focusing on obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular, cancer and other diseases. Currently she is designated as a ‘Fulbright Senior Specialist’ in Global Public Health and a member of the Board of Scientific Counselors of the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control at the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention. Also, she holds visiting faculty appointments at the University of Valparaiso (Chile), and at University of Chile in Santiago. She served as Statistical Editor of the Archives of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, am currently co-Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Injury Control & Safety Promotion, and was elected member of the International Statistical Institute. Topics of research interests: Nonparametric methods, Methodology for clinical trials, Reliability and validity of diagnostic tests, Graphical methods for descriptive analyses.
