George and Anne Platt Distinguished Lecture Series
The George and Anne Platt Distinguished Lecture Series is designed to bring annually to Chapel Hill an eminent scholar with a distinguished career in Latin American and/or Latino/a Studies. The Platt program provides annually an opportunity for students, staff, and faculty to engage distinguished scholars in the social sciences and the humanities.

ISA Distinguished Scholar Lecture Series
The ISA Distinguished Scholar Lecture Series provides the venue in which to host the visit of a scholar in the social sciences and humanities who has recently published noteworthy work of scholarship that promises to have a significant impact on the field of Latin American and/or Latino/a Studies.

Cuba Speakers Series
Cuba Speakers Series hosts scholars and artists from Cuba and scholars of Cuba to address themes related to the social and natural sciences, humanities and arts, health care, and law.

Faculty Lecture Series
The Faculty Lecture Series provides a venue for campus programming for Carolina faculty to present current research in progress, to “test” new ideas, and share the results of new scholarship with the larger University community.

 

Exhibits and Performances

ISA supports exhibits and presentations, often in collaboration with other UNC programs and North Carolina colleges and universities, that feature the work of Latin American and Caribbean talents from near and far through art, music, poetry, and drama. In addition, the Consortium on Latin American and Caribbean Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University, every October hosts the NC Latin American Film Festival on multiple venues in Chapel Hill and Durham.
