Dr. Graham's primary research program is in historical and comparative Romance linguistics, especially concerning Romance languages on the Iberian Peninsula. He is interested in contrasts in the historical development of syntax, morphology, and phonology from Latin to the modern Romance dialects. Additionally, Dr. Graham conducts research in pragmatic and sociolinguistic variation in Latin American Spanish, with a focus on discourse marker usage by different social groups.
