Miguel la Serna is interested in Latin American Cold War revolutions and political violence. He has written several books on Peru’s internal armed conflict, including The Corner of the Living: Ayacucho on the Eve of the Shining Path Insurgency (UNC Press 2012); The Shining Path: Love, Madness, and Revolution in the Andes (Norton 2019, co-authored with Orin Starn), and With Masses and Arms: Peru’s Tupac Amaru Revolutionary Movement (UNC Press forthcoming spring 2020).
