I'm an ecologist trying to figure out how animals are responding to the many ways in which the earth is changing. I gravitate toward applied research where the questions have clear relevance to the issues, challenges, and problems related to how we manage natural resources. Though I've worked in a number of different systems, I'm particularly interested in coastal wetlands, which support all kinds of unique and obscure animals but are also vulnerable to drought, increasingly severe hurricanes, rising sea levels, and other consequences of human-caused climate change.
