This symposium features the work of two graduate students. Lara Lookabaugh, a graduate student in the Geography Department, will be presenting on Mujeres Tejedoras del Conocimiento: Mam Maya Women Weaving Knowledge for Decolonial Futures. Dirk Davis, a doctoral candidate in the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health, will be presenting on 'They can't stand gay people and they always discriminate against us': Exploring how violence affects LGBTQ communities in Central America.
